Purpose

This guide explains how to make calls, place callers on hold, transfer calls (blind and attended), start a conference, and mute your microphone in Wildix Collaboration 7.

Scope

Applies to all employees using Wildix Collaboration 7. These procedures apply to the web browser and Windows desktop app. Desk phone operation follows standard handset behaviour.

Procedure

Making a Call

You can start a call from the search bar, the Colleagues tab, the Phonebook, or the dial pad.

  1. From the search bar: click the search field at the top of the interface, type a name or phone number, select the contact from the results, and click the phone icon.
  2. From the Colleagues tab: find the person in the list, hover over their name, and click the phone icon that appears.
  3. From the Phonebook: open the Contacts section, find the contact, and click the phone icon next to their name.
  4. To dial an external number directly: click the dial pad icon, type the number, and press the call button.

Hold and Resume

  1. During an active call, click the Hold button (pause icon) in the call controls bar.
  2. The caller will hear hold music. Your call controls will show a Resume button.
  3. To resume the call, click Resume (play icon).

Blind Transfer

A blind transfer sends the caller directly to another extension without speaking to that person first.

  1. During an active call, click the Transfer button in the call controls bar.
  2. Select Blind Transfer (the arrow icon).
  3. Type the name or extension of the person you want to transfer the call to.
  4. Select the contact and confirm. The call transfers immediately.

Attended Transfer

An attended transfer lets you speak with the receiving party before completing the transfer.

  1. During an active call, click the Transfer button in the call controls bar.
  2. Select Attended Transfer (the handset icon).
  3. Type the name or extension of the receiving party and call them. The original caller is placed on hold.
  4. Speak with the receiving party to introduce the call.
  5. Click Complete Transfer to connect the original caller to the new party and remove yourself from the call.

Merge and Conference

You can add a third party to a call to create a three-way conference.

  1. While on an active call, click the Add Participant button or select Other from the call controls menu.
  2. Select Conference.
  3. Search for and call the person you want to add.
  4. Once they answer, click Merge to bring all parties into a single call.

Mute Microphone

  1. During an active call, click the Mute button (microphone icon) in the call controls bar.
  2. The icon will change to indicate you are muted. The other party cannot hear you.
  3. Click the microphone icon again to unmute.

Note: Muting affects only your microphone for that call. It does not put the call on hold.

Call History

  1. In the left-hand navigation, click the Call History tab (clock or phone-with-history icon).
  2. Your call history will display with the most recent calls at the top.
  3. Each entry shows the caller name or number, call direction, date, and duration. Call types are identified as follows:
    1. Inbound — an incoming call you received.
    2. Outbound — a call placed by you.
    3. Missed — an incoming call that was not answered (shown in red or with a missed call indicator).
  4. To call back a number from history, click the phone icon next to the entry.
